Welcome to the West Islip Little League Field Maintenance Center.
Field Maintenance is a critical aspect to the enjoyment of the game. All managers and coaches share in the responsibility to have our parents and players respect the fields.

When there is standing water on the fields, there should be no practice or games. Playability will be determined by the Division Directors. If an effort is to be made to dry the fields, the following must be adhered to:
  • -Never push water from the infield onto the infield or outfield grass.
  • -In areas of standing water, dig a hole in the dirt and push the water into the hole. The water can be removed with a cup, shopvac or pump. After the water is removed, the dirt is replaced and a small amount of Quickdry can be applied.
  • -Never apply Quickdry to standing water.
  • -Never dig a hole in the grass areas.

When in doubt, dont do it!!!! Call a Division Director or the Director of Field Maintenance. We all need to help in keeping the fields in a safe and enjoyable condition.

Please take this responsibility seriously.
